Everyone's Welcome
Welcome to Parkwood Presbyterian Church and School! We are happy that you are interested in our faith community. Our ministry includes a worshiping and discipling congregation, a Christian School (Preschool through 8th Grade), and much more! We seek to honor Christ, love one another, and serve our community.
All are welcome at Parkwood! We follow a Savior who came for the broken, the hurting, the lost, the grieving. Jesus Christ lived, died and rose again to give forgiveness, life and salvation to all, and to welcome the exiles home. This good news is at the heart of who we are and all that we do at Parkwood.
Our Worship
Our services are a mix of traditional and contemporary. You'll find:
- Guitars, bass, drums along with piano and organ accompanying the music.
- Traditional hymns along with modern worship songs and choruses.
- A children's talk followed by a time apart for junior kindergarten (age 4) through high school.
- A message rooted in scripture that helps us understand how God would have us live.
- An opportunity to give thanks, share needs, and have those needs prayed for.
- Time over refreshments after the service to chat with friends old and new.
On May 3, 2026 Pastor James began a new series on the theme: "An encouraging letter from prison: Philippians"
The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper is celebrated on the first Sunday of March, June, October, and December at the morning service, and at the evening service on Maundy Thursday. We continue to offer virtual communion for those worshipping online.
Parkwood Church gathers for worship and fellowship within the traditional unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabeg people.

There are also ushers present to answer any questions or direct you in any way necessary.
Our Music
Parkwood's musicians and singers rehearse on Thursday evenings in the sanctuary (7:30–9:00 p.m.) under the leadership of Dianne Smith. Music in worship is varied, encompassing both traditional and contemporary styles. Soloists, small groups and instrumentalists often provide special music. If you have musical gifts to share—or would like to explore—join us any Thursday evening to make a joyful noise unto the Lord. (Note: singers break during July and August.)
Church School and Nursery
Children are welcome in the sancuary during the worship service. A nursery is available for parents/caregivers of children under 2 if they would like. An audio feed from the sanctuary is available in the Nursery.
Church School runs during morning worship for ages 2 and up including high school. Everyone worships together in the sanctuary. After the children’s story (about 15 minutes into the service) children go to their classes.
A Safe Environment
When you enter Parkwood Church you can expect a safe environment for yourself, your children, youth and vulnerable adults.
